Dr. Koshi Makihara is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Embodied AI Research Team, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tokyo, Japan.

• 2021 - 2025 Ph.D student at Robotics Manipulation Lab, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, The University of Osaka (Supervisor: Prof. Kensuke Harada).
• 2019 - 2021 Master’s student at Manipulation System Lab, Graduate School of System and Information Engineering, The University of Tsukuba (Supervisor: Prof. Yasumichi Aiyama).
• 2016 - 2019 Bachelor’s student at Manipulation Robotics Lab, National Institute of Technology, Sasebo College (Supervisor: Associate Prof. Satoshi Makita).

Research Interests

My major interest is the smart warehouse utilizing robotic arms: visual recognition and grasping, as well as action planning and generation for next-generation logistics.
